The IB is two programmes, not one exam. Our 2027 mocks cover both because most candidates and parents searching "IB mock test" actually want one of two things: a Diploma Programme paper in the real pattern, or a Middle Years Programme task against the official criteria. This page is the head term that funnels into whichever fits where you are in the IB continuum.
- Diploma Programme (DP) papers - the two-year, pre-university qualification for ages ~16-19; six subjects across six groups, three at Higher Level and three at Standard Level, each graded 1-7, plus the core (TOK + EE + CAS) for up to 3 bonus points.
- Middle Years Programme (MYP) tasks - for ages ~11-16 (years 1-5), criterion-based, with four criteria (A-D) each 0-8 that convert through published boundaries to a 1-7 final grade.
- May 2027 session focus - the timetable is back-planned from the IB May 2027 written exam window (indicatively late April to late May 2027 for Northern Hemisphere schools), with November 2027 timing available for Southern Hemisphere candidates.
DP coverage in detail
The DP mocks mirror the structure your school's IB coordinator already follows. Each paper is set against the live subject-group expectations and is graded 1-7 per subject, with optional cross-subject point totals to estimate where you sit on the 45-point scale.
| DP layer | What you see in the mock | Grading |
|---|---|---|
| 6 subjects, 6 groups | Language & literature, language acquisition, individuals & societies, sciences, maths, the arts | 1-7 per subject |
| 3 HL + 3 SL | HL ~240 teaching hours - depth; SL ~150 - breadth | Up to 42 points across all six |
| TOK + Extended Essay | Context only in mocks; the bonus points come from the live IB | Up to 3 bonus points (45 max) |
| CAS | Completion gate, not a paper - we surface what you still need | Required, no points |
| Diploma pass | 24+ points overall with conditions met | 24/45 floor |
MYP coverage in detail
MYP mocks are criterion-based by design - the same model the IB uses internally. Each task surfaces criteria A-D, each marked 0-8, and rolls them up via the published boundary table to a 1-7 grade. You see the descriptor language, not a vague "good answer".
- Eight subject groups covered across MYP years 1-5, with year-5 tasks designed in the on-screen eAssessment style your school may opt into.
- Criteria A-D rubric on every task - so you train against the descriptor that moves you from a 5 to a 6, not a fuzzy mark.
- Personal Project context- we don't mark your Personal Project, but mocks reinforce the ATL skills it assesses (research, communication, self-management, thinking, social).
TOK and EE in this mock
A mock cannot generate the live TOK exhibition / prescribed-title essay or the ~4,000-word Extended Essay - those are marked through your school and the IB. What the mock does is set the right expectations: the TOK / EE matrix delivers up to 3 bonus points on top of your 42 subject points, and a very weak combination can trigger a failing condition even with strong subject grades. The assessment-pattern guide walks through the matrix in detail.
May vs November 2027: which session this targets
The IB DP runs two written-exam sessions a year. The May session is the larger Northern Hemisphere window (indicatively 28 April to 22 May 2027, results around early July 2027), and the November session covers Southern Hemisphere schools (indicatively late October to mid November 2027, results around early January 2028). Mocks are calibrated against both; only the calendar differs - the syllabus, grading and marking are identical. See the full IB 2027 calendar for the exact windows your school will confirm.
Two modes for IB practice
- Exam-like mode - a full DP paper or MYP task with the timer on, no hints, and the full mark scheme released only after submission. This is the mode to use in the four weeks before May 2027, because it rehearses the cognitive load of a real IB session.
- Instant-feedback mode - the same questions, but each one releases its solution and the relevant criterion as soon as you commit an answer. Use it for the build-up months, when the goal is cleaning up concept and rubric gaps rather than testing endurance.
Three tiers of IB mocks
| Tier | Best for | What it looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Topic / criterion | One DP topic or a single MYP criterion at a time | Short, focused, ideal for daily build-up |
| Subject paper | A full DP subject paper or a full MYP task | Matched to real timing per subject and paper |
| Session mock | Stacking subject papers in the May 2027 order | Closest you can get to the real IB session at home |
Why this matches the real IB pattern
Three things have to be right for a mock to be useful: the question style, the mark scheme, and the constraint. Our DP papers are written to mark-scheme criteria the IB publishes (analysis, application, communication - not memorised templates), the MYP tasks are graded against the published criteria A-D descriptors, and the timing matches the live IB per paper. We will not be perfect on every subject - no third party can be - but the structural fidelity is what gives a score here predictive value.
What happens after you finish
- Per-subject 1-7 grade on every DP paper, with a per-question breakdown so you can target the topics that cost you the most marks.
- Per-criterion score on every MYP task (A through D, each out of 8), with the descriptor that justifies the level - the rubric language is the feedback.
- Estimated DP point total when you stack multiple subject papers, with a clear note that the TOK / EE bonus (up to 3 points) and CAS completion come from the live IB - not from the mock - and see the points & entry page for indicative bands.
- Time-per-question heatmap so you can see which questions are bleeding minutes and rehearse the pacing problem, not just the content one.
How to use this for an IB 2027 build-up
The honest plan is boring: cover the syllabus through your school by early 2027, clear internal assessment drafts by school deadlines, then convert the final ten to twelve weeks into timed, full-length practice in exam-like mode - one subject at a time, then stacked. Use instant-feedback mode for the diagnostic phase and exam-like for the rehearsal phase. The eligibility page covers who can sit each programme, and how registration works walks the IBIS / coordinator flow your school handles for you.
